On the Origin of Diversity
Robin McMahon
This book celebrates the genius of diversity and details some of the fabulous options with theories and challenges to enhance the quality of individual lives. Entwined in some fictional extracts, the common theme is that choice is better than compulsion and that criticism, rather than the celebration of alternative views, waste potential.
Some of the scientific progress of Charles Darwin's theories, as detailed in 'On the Origin of Species', is given in McMahon's precis of Darwin's life. Almost as soon as Darwin's evolution commenced, McMahon suggested that diversity has thrived. Diversity can be extremely cruel and unfair, but McMahon considers the pros and cons.
The book researches some of the major areas of concern to the international community to the legacy we are creating and the wilful ignorance we show towards diversity. One of our species' greatest gifts is in being able to perceive diversity, but despite some political intentions, it is an asset that has been given too little discussion of research.
Albert Einstein said that "the most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science." Much relating to diversity remains mysterious. In this fascinating book, Robin McMahon provides some unique insights to help us discover our own answers. |
