Have you ever thought about turning your knowledge into income?

No matter what profession you are in, or indeed what job you have been doing, the chances are that you know a lot more now, than you did when you first got started. In fact, by now you might have a lifetime of experience to draw on. Just think back to when you first started out, what would you dearly love to have known then, that could have made all the difference to your early success? How easy was it to find out what you needed to know or to tap into the practical, rather than theoretical knowledge that you needed?

Many people overlook the fact that their greatest asset is not their house or even their savings, but the knowledge that they have built up over a lifetime of experience. The trouble is that, having made regular deposits into their Bank of Knowledge all their lives, many people end up with a dormant account, by not making any withdrawals at a time when they could use it the most.  By tapping into your knowledge, you might be surprised how much you actually do know, once you start to think about it. It is also surprising what you could do with that knowledge to turn it into a new source of income.

You may well have all the answers or solutions to a multitude of situations or issues locked inside your head that a number of people are searching for, like yourself when you first started out. All you need is the right questions to draw them out.

These days “experts” are not necessarily people with a complete command of a major subject, but people who have specialised in a particular aspect of it. With so many professions consisting of a myriad of smaller specialities, there are great opportunities for niche authors to make an impact from packaging their knowledge in a way that others could benefit from.

Becoming a niche author is not as daunting as it might sound and by following a series of simple steps you might be pleasantly surprised about what you could achieve. Every published author started from where you are now, with the same doubts about themselves. However, they had a vision for what they wanted to do, made a plan of action and persisted till they achieved it. You can do the same.

Many authors put their original success down to a “NAG” – and they don’t mean their partner! Joining a New Authors Group can give you the support and encouragement to take your embryonic idea and nurture it to fruition.  Filament’s New Authors Group is free to join and can partner you with expert feedback  as well as the opportunity to talk to others on the same journey.

Remember any idea is just a wish or a fantasy until it is put on paper. So make a start today. It only takes a simple decision to start but the majority of people will never make it. Are you one of the “herd” or will you become one of the “heard”? The choice is yours.
